The mulberry tree is a symbolic one, particularly in Greek, Chinese and Japanese mythology. The symbolism of the tree varies, but the symbolism I prefer is linked to Greek mythology where the tree is seen as a symbol of wisdom.

Goal setting podcast

Check out David Allen, author of Getting Things Done, talking about goal setting in this short podcast. Although a couple of years old now, it is still relevant today. David suggests thinking about what you would like your life to look like 12 months from now, set as many as 45 goals, from small to large and just get going! He also recommends cleaning up (physically getting rid of clutter at home or work) to free up your mind and thinking about what you have achieved in the past 12 months. He emphasizes that goals may change so then you just review and reset them. Having started on the path to one goal you may find that actually you really wanted to aim for something else.

If you wanted to set some goals for the New Year and feel you have ‘missed the boat’ with New Year’s resolutions because mid January is upon us, then remember that Chinese New Year starts on 23rd January!
